Class Gathers to Challenge Inequality

A huge roster of speakers from the Labour and progressive movement has been assembled for a conference on ‘challenging inequalities in wealth and power’ in central London this Saturday.

Class logoEntitled ‘What Britain Needs’, the conference – organised by Class, the Centre of Labour and Social Studies – features everyone from columnists Polly Toynbee and Owen Jones to MPs such as Lisa Nandy and Sadiq Khan, trade unionists, such as Paul Kenny from GMB, to academics Doreen Massey and Stephen Ball.

Key themes will be set by a session called ‘The state of Britain: challenging power and inequality’ while two other plenaries cover policies for ‘a winning manifesto’ and a vision for ‘a more equal and progressive future’.

There is also a long list of breakout sessions on every topic from education to housing, tax, the NHS, jobs, feminism, and arts and culture.

Places can be booked via the Class website, costing £10, £8 for trade unionists and £4 concessions. The conference is being held at TUC Congress Centre:
23-28 Great Russell Street
London WC1B 3LS.
