How political education can contribute to building a socialist movement will be the subject of discussion at the fourth meeting of Political Education Together, the group set up by Independent Working Class Education at Durham Miners’ Gala two years ago.

The Zoom meeting on Monday 14 September will feature contributions from Colin Hampton of the Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre and Labour political education officer, Dr. Sharon Clancy.

Hampton will look at the key issues facing the working class at the moment while Clancy will introduce discussion on Labour’s political education system.

The meeting runs from 2-3.30pm and those interested in attending should contact Keith Venables on iwceducation@yahoo.co.uk for details.

“The aim of Political Education Together is to encourage sharper thinking about how we use education to strengthen working class struggle and the socialist movement,” said Venables. “Beyond that, PET seeks to enable various political education groups to work together.”
