The Independent Working Class Education organisation is hosting a meeting to examine to “what’s behind the economics of the Liz Truss-led Conservative government”.
‘Trussonomics and After’, to be held on Zoom on Tuesday 15 November, will be addressed by Dr Martin Allen, author of Running the economy like a household: How do we challenge neo-liberal thinking on budgets, borrowing and economic competence? Dr Allen is a former secondary school economics teacher and runs a blog called ‘Radicaled’ on education, economy and society.
He will be followed by Simon Mohun, former professor of economics at Queen Mary University of London, who will talk about the macro-economic aspects of the Tories’ agenda, and Sue Himmelweit, former professor of economics at the Open University, who will discuss the gender impact of the proposed policies.
The three short presentations will be followed by plenty of time for discussion.
You can join the Zoom meeting by clicking this link at 5pm on 15 November. Or contact Keith Venables via wceducation@yahoo.co.uk for more information.
